Mountain View Community Church has been a mobile church for 16 years. We have met at CCC, OCHS, OCHS Jackson Campus, Tumwater Ballroom, online, in various fields, outdoor amphitheaters, and now at Regal Hilltop Cinemas. It has been a blast, but also very challenging.
While we have faced all sorts of ups and downs, one thing has always remained the same...our mission to proclaim Jesus and see lives transformed across our city and world.
The theme for our building campaign comes from Ephesians 2:21-22:
"In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.
And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit."
This reminds us that He is a cornerstone and foundation that we will continue to build on no matter what location or building we find ourselves in.
The mission is the same.
We know that if we continue to focus on Christ, all things will fall into place and amazing things will happen.
We believe that people are the church, not a building, but we are a church that serves our community seven days a week and a building will give us an abundance of opportunities to do this better.
We can, and will, continue to operation without our own building for now, but we believe that God has a permanent place for MVCC that he will use to build His Kingdom as we faithfully serve him and our community.
We are praying that in the next 21 days, our church body will join together to seek His will for MVCC. We are praying God would speak to us regarding our property, future building plans, alternative locations, existing buildings, finances and how each one of us can get involved.
We trust that God has so much more for MVCC in the future. The last 16 years were only the beginning for us!
It's the people that make MVCC great and we believe that a permanent home for us will increase our impact and bless this community, leaving our mark by proclaiming Jesus and transforming lives!
Prayer Guide
A few things to consider as you pray:
- Be intentional about putting away distractions, take a few deep breaths and begin your time by giving thanks and praising God.
- Read the scripture slowly and thoughtfully, with anticipation that God has something to say to you through his word.
- Begin to pray, focusing on the theme that has been emphasized for the day. Remember that we are praying specifically for direction and provision regarding MVCC and our future as a family.
- Finish by asking, "Father, what do you want me to hear today?"

Ways to join in
If you would like to join us for the next 21 days, here are a few ways to get involved:
-
I will set an alarm to pray at 2:21 every day (Ephesians 2:21-22) for the next 21 days. The focus will be praying for God's direction for MVCC, God's provision and how I can be a part of that vision.
-
I will pray using this 21 Day Prayer Guide, setting aside each day a specific time to seek the Lord, his provision, and guidance regarding MVCC's future home.
-
I will voluntarily fast for one full day of my choice (sunrise to sunset) during the 21 day prayer challenge. I will abstain from food, while praying and seeking the Lord's will regarding my part in MVCC's future and mission.
